File > Save Compound Data File As |
The current compound system after compound retrieval, editing and data conversion can be saved as the Compound Data File in a selected file.
Content and comparison with Compound file
This file contains essentially the same information as given in the Compound File, but this file cannot be read from the MALT for Windows. This file can be utilized when users want to use the thermodynamic data directly without accessing to the MALT database. Since the same information can be stored as the compound file and this file can be handled inside MALT, it is not necessary to use the Compound Data file. You can just save as the compound file from the available menus.
Merits
The most important point of the compound data file is that it can be read directly from the user's application programs. For this purpose, the sample programs together with some utilities are provided.
Utilization in MALT related software
As MALT related software, two software are available; that is, the chemical equilibrium calculation software, gem, and the chemical potential diagram construction software, CHD. Both sosftware will make use of the following methods to recieve the thermodynamic data
- MALT Direct procedure: recieve those thermodynamic data of the currently available and organized compound system.
- Compound Data File: obtain essentially the same information from the file.
Utilization of the compound data file is designed so as to make it possible to save the data as well as results of calculations simultanesouly. When those data are stored as the project file, it becomes quite easy to recall what was done with the selected data and the selected calculation conditions in the application level.
