In the Menu:Tools/Customize MALT setting, General, Computation and Files pages will appear, whereas in the Menu:Calculate/Equilibrium Calculation/Define Calc Condition, Computation and Tabulation pages will appear.
The message language can be selected between English and Japanese.
Note that the Windows message is given in the Windows OS language. When you are running MALT in the German Windows, the message associated with the Windowss dialogs will be given in German.
During the MALT running, the MALT message will be made by using the language option which is given in the "ini file" will be used. To change the message language, it is necessary to change this option and restart the MALT again.
This is for saving the current compound system to restart again with the same system in the next session.
When this option is not checked, no compound retrieval will be made just after a new MLAT session will start.
This option is prepared because the retrieval in terms of the specification of element alone will give a large number of retrieved compounds for a system containing carbon. The limitation of carbon containing compounds can be made by specifying the carbon number of the compounds to be retrieved for the maximum and the minimum carbon numbers.
The default values for the minimum and the maximum values are zero and zero. This means that there is no limitation on the carbon number.
When the maximum number is set as non-zero value, the minimum value should be set as non-zero value. A typical combination of 1,2 means that C1 and C2 compounds will be retrieved.
The retrieval is made in terms of elements and their stoichiometric numbers. For retrieving the species having charges, an additional specification is needed. In MALT, this is made by checking the options for the following;
Including ionic species
Including aqueous species
In the thermodynamic conventions, there are two different ways: one is for the aqueous solution and the other is high temperature gaseous species. The former is based on the definition on H+ , whereas the latter based on the definition of e-. In view of this difference, it should be avoided to use the two ways simultaneously.
(1-6) Default
There are three buttons available concerning the options to be selected in this Form.
MALT default: This is for canceling the current settings and for setting the MALT default values.
Save: This is for saving the current settings in a working file.
User Opt: This is for reading the previously saved settings from the working file.
The directories for the following files can be specified here:
Compound File (*.mcf)
MALT Data File (*.mcd)
User data (*.udb)
User Application File (*.exe)
Text file for output (*.txt)
Temporary file (*.*)
The selection can be made by selecting one of the listed file in the respective comboboxes or by newly selecting file in the Windows file dialog after clicking the speed button "...".
