Data Management |
- Data in MALT database
- The thermodynamic data in the MALT main database cannot be directly edited, deleted and added by users.
- For such a purpose, the user databases can be utilized.
- Editing user's data can be made
inside the MALT for Windows
or outside the system using other text editing facilities.
-
User data consists of
i) user's own data
ii) Modified MALT data.
Those data can be stored in the form of teh user data text file (*.txt) or the user data base (*.udb).
-
The MALT database and resulting retrieved compound system consists of individual compounds, although the gaseous or aqueous species are included.
On the MALT direct, the minimized procedure of organizing the current compound system to include the information of the ideal gaseous mixture or of the ideal aqueous solution.
Data Format Conversion makes it possible for user to organize the current compound system to include the mixture phase or to exclude unneccesary compounds out of the compound system.
Those information of the organization can be saved as the compound file or the compound data file.
-
MALT makes use of several files for user's convenience. The followings are some remarks to realize better data management and to keep consistency.
- It is better to edit the user data by using the MALT user data facilities.
- The information of the compound file containing the user data should be saved in both compound file and compound data file.
- The information of the compound file will be partly lost when the user data text file will be compiled.
- On the other hand, the compund data file contains the information of the thermodynamic data of involved compounds, and therefore this information can be used in the future sessions of gem or CHD. Whenever users want to reproduce the obtained results by gem or CHD at any time, the data used should be stored with the condition of calculations as the project file.
